History of the Journals

History

The "BRC" prefix assigned to Cambria Institute journals recognizes the efforts of a group of distinguished business professors from Canisius College, Niagara University, St. Bonaventure University, St. John Fisher College, and SUNY Geneseo who proposed that faculty meet periodically to collaborate in research. These faculty called their initiative the Business Research Consortium of Western New York.

The first symposium was held in 2005. Cambria Press was invited to publish the annual proceedings in 2008. In 2010, Cambria Press proposed the creation of journals to broaden research efforts which would operate independently of the annual symposium and proceedings.

The BRC journals continue to grow internationally and allow for submission from any qualified professor or instructor worldwide without any requirement for payment, subsidy, conference participation, membership fee, or affiliation. By calling its journals BRC, Cambria Press honors the selfless work of the business professors who inspired their creation. However, Cambria Press has no legal affiliation with Business Research Consortium whose activities are independent of Cambria Press.
