Through a literature review, research supports using Total Quality Management (TQM) as a potential framework to implement sustainability in Supply Chain Management (SCM). The research highlights Total Quality Management (TQM) philosophies of a customer focus, continuous improvement and cultural shift necessary to implement sustainability. The relationship between sustainability and Quality gurus’ philosophies, TQM approaches and tools are developed. This framework offers practitioners best practices and known tools and techniques to implement sustainability and avenues for future research for academics.
