Abstract

Our study investigates the self-reported interest in and motivation for service activities among freshman business students at St Bonaventure University with the goal of increasing student volunteerism. Data from the sample of 199 students suggests that integrating professional activities in service projects, providing students with mentoring and good deed opportunities would be effective strategies to increase volunteerism. We discuss how these strategies influenced service initiatives in the School of Business over the past six years.
